Faced with the usual Santa Barbara winter break boredom and the fact that a number of people hadn’t called me back, I decided to make the best of the evening. I found Jake who happens to be home from Chicago and the two of us hung out and talked about girls. At some point in the evening, he started singing the lyrics to an old Gin Blossoms song from the above album. I realized that I bought the album sometime around my fifth grade year and furthermore, I still owned it. I dug through my old jewel cases and found it. We grabbed my brother, jumped in the car, threw it in the CD player and sped off into the cold evening, yelling along with all the lyrics we still knew by heart.

Good times…

Coffee and Cigarettes

Dear Caitlin,

I had a great time hanging out with you this evening. It means a lot to me that we can spend five hours together and talk about a bunch of really cool stuff. Can you believe we’ve been out of high school this long? I know, it’s crazy. Anyhow, I just wanted to say that our time this evening (and early morning) made me realize how much I value as a close friend. I hope we can keep this up for years to come!

All the best,
Mark

P.S. We’ll kick this habit when we’re older, right?

The Old Days.

procrastination

Here is an enumerated list of the things I’ve done today instead of studying for my upcoming fall quarter finals.

1. Went to the Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento.
2. Had lunch at Crepeville
3. Took a nap
4. Cleaned my room
5. Listened to some Coheed and Cambria
6. Made a to do list for Monday
7. Sorted a pile of bills that have recently reached past-due status
8. Went out for coffee.

Seeing as I woke up at 9:30 this morning and that it is now rapidly approaching 9:00pm, I feel as though I should force myself to go to the library to get some work done.

Or I could put together that photo album I’ve been meaning to get to since the summer of 2001…
