who said mondays had to be bad?

Four reasons I love today (or yesterday as it’s early in the morning now):
1. I got a call back from Imani Clinic and I’m being interviewed Wednesday!
2. There is a slight possibility that I will work for the Rio Beni Health Project in Bolivia over the summer.
3. My dad said it’d be cool if I ditched AT&T Wireless in favor of T-Mobile. Finally, a cell phone that works in Davis.
4. I finished all my chemistry work and I understand more than half of it! Trust me, this is huge.

Ah, I can’t wait to see what Tuesday will bring…

I’m never paying taxes again.

So I was reading some nerdy stuff over at ArsTechnica when I stumbled upon a debate about a proposal made by the Bush administration to spend $1.5 billion on marriage. Yeah, that’s right, Bush wants to spend $1.5 BILLION on encouraging people to get married.

Go ahead, read more.

Shocking.

a new year and back to D-town

In a few short hours I’ll be starting my winter quarter here at UC Davis and it seems like the last few weeks went by far too quickly. I had a great time back in Santa Barbara and the times that I spent with my friends made it worthwhile. Part of me wonders if that’ll be my last real break back at home as the next few years look like they won’t afford me many opportunities to visit. Spring break will most likely be spent in Tahoe doing some snowboarding. This summer I’ll be in South America with my family and then it’s off to summer school somewhere. Basically, I don’t really know when I’ll be making my way back for more than a few days.

Back in high school I had a teacher who shared an alarming but all-too-real thought with his senior class: once you leave home, you can never return. Things won’t be the same no matter what which is usually a good thing but when you’re blessed with friends like mine, it’s a melancholy realization. Here’s to hoping it all stays the same.
