Seeing as this trip is quickly coming to a close, I’ve decided to draft a short list of some pluses and minuses of going home to California.

Pros

• My own bed
• Food that doesn’t consist of fried beef, fish or pork
• A washing machine and dryer, because who likes washing clothes in the sink?
• The ability to get away from my family whenever I want (I miss you, 2004 Honda Civic)
• Moving to San Francisco(!)
• Fiesta 2006
• No more Cyrillic keyboards

Cons

• No more good borscht (Russian beet soup, and probably not spelled correctly)
• I can no longer speak English in front of people, without them knowing what I’m saying
• The Moscow Metro
• Switching back to the dollar, because carrying around five hundred rubles makes me feel rich
• No one will clean my room for me on a daily basis

For now I’ll head to the bar to watch the World Cup semifinals.
